Ajax Search Pro for WordPress – A Live WordPress search and filter plugin

Ajax Search Pro for WordPress was designed to boost the user search experience to the maximum. It provides a live ajax search, which makes the wordpress search experience more confortable.

The results are presented with images (if any found), so they look more attractive and less flat. The search works with mobile devices, let it be Android or IOS powered.

The search can override the default wordpress search results – so the ajax functionality is extended – replace your default theme search with only a click of a button.

The search can return posts, pages, any custom post types (like WooCommerce products, BBPress forums, topics, replies), categories, custom taxonomy terms (like product categories, portfolio tags), users, BudddyPress groups and BuddyPress activities as results.

Searching media attachments, including their content is also possible – for PDF, CSV, TXT, RTF and Office documents, Excel and Powerpoint files.

More than 60 colorful, fully customizable themes will save you time with the CSS hussle, so you can focus more on the presentation.

The backend offers hundreds of options for those, who like to customize the search to the maximum. Many features were implemented based on customer feedbacks, and even more coming soon.

This WordPress search plugin officially supports Visual Composer as well – so in addition an Ajax Search Pro Visual Composer addon is included within the plugin.

Live results page loader script also included – for more details, check out the Results page live loader documentation.

The plugin is updated regulary based on customer feedbacks and bug reports. Every support ticket is answered within 48 hours, usually in 12 hours (except for weekends).

    Hi! Unfortunately not, because of the major differences of 'objects' within each WordPress installation. (differenes in post types, meta fields, categories, taxonomies, etc..) There are pre-built themes of course, but the rest has to be configured for each site individually. I completely understand that the options can be too much, or confusing in some cases, because there is a lot of them. I recommend checking on these resources:

    • Ajax Search Pro - Documentation
    • Ajax Search Pro - Knowledge Base
    • Don't forget the option search on the back-end, in case you can't find anything
    The options and the documentation is constructed top-down, so it covers the most important sections first, and the more specific ones later on. Some chapters have a video section as well, to help you out as much as possible. If there is something you can't find, or something is not working as you expect it, feel free to open a support ticket over on the support forums.

    Best regards,
    Ernest Marcinko

    Hi there, I'm using "https://gtmetrix.com" to know the performance of my site but there is an error with your plugin because your plugin is calling a google font https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans:300|Open+Sans:400|Open+Sans:700 in the default settings so I click in "Replace the default theme search with" so that way my search forms have in typography inherit , but the plugin is still using open sans as default and that is causing an error in gtmetrix, so how can I do to remove that line? any suggestion?

    Hi! The fastest and best way is to use this custom code snippet:

    add_filter('asp_custom_fonts', 'asp_null_css');
    function asp_null_css($css_arr) {
        return array();
    }
    Just put it into the functions.php file in your active theme directory. It will de-queue all fonts added by the plugin. Make sure to have a back-up copy of your site, before making direct changes in the theme files!

    Best regards,
    Ernest Marcinko

    Hi ... great looking plugin :) Just wanted to check something ... on the backend demo there is option in the advanced settings to ... "group results by categories". Does this mean the results will be grouped & categorized with a group heading? If so, can it be done by custom post types also? Great if it does, as this is what I am looking for Many thanks in advance

    Hi! I believe this would only be possible by some custom javascript code by creating an event listener to focus the ajax search pro input field on the theme magnifier click. It should be 2-3 lines of code, but I can't tell what exactly, it depends on the theme structure and the element names and ids. If you can link me to the affected page I might be able to construct something, but I can't promise it will work. Best regards, Ernest

    Sorry about the delay, I didn't get notified about your ticket for some reason. My host must have had some issues I guess. I replied to your ticket.

    I don't think your ticketing system is working. Again I haven't gotten any response to my issue. I posted a reply a few days ago which never got posted and then I posted it again yesterday. Thanks.

    I think this is yours, but the last answer was from yesterday, not from few days ago, to which I responded: https://wp-dreams.com/forums/topic/search-results-wacky/ I think you just don't get the notification mails or something, might be in your spam folder? I'm getting them to multiple accounts and I got answers back to other tickets so I'm gessing that others are getting the mails. Or at least so far nobody else complained.

    Hi, Good work. Is possible to set search and filter by custom fields of category or custom taxonomy. The custom fields of each category or custom taxonomy should be shown after the category or custom taxonomy selection. Please advise

    Hi! Filtering by custom fields is not possible yet. Only by categories or custom taxonomy terms.

    Hello Anago I wanna report a bug. For example write in the field of search, ACTOR. but before the results appear, erase it. But as you see, the loading spinner is still spinning and never stops.

    Interesting, it works on my test servers. Please note that the demo is not updated to 3.5 yet, it's getting an update tomorrow. Will check out that library closer next week, looks very promising.

    Is it also possible to add reverse image search? for example, users type url of a picture(or upload one), and it gives them information about the pic, or gives them the posts in the site that have that picture. These articles maybe helpful api.blockspring.com/frankthetank/5a1b66ef208007c51a45fda220dbe8db blog.mashape.com/list-of-14-image-recognition-apis/ imageraider.com/api/ github.com/vivithemage/mrisa

    Hi there, Somehow my search has stop to find my custom posts. So I tried to make it find everything, but it doesnt work. I use Polylang to set language, default is set to swedish. Do you think that this is causing the problem? This is the site: http://mockups.se/wahlins/ I'll be glad to let you in if you think you can help me

    Hi! If it was working before installing that polylang plugin, then it's definitely that causing the issue. You can open a detailed support ticket here if you want: http://wp-dreams.com/open-support-ticket-step-1/ But please note, that I can't assure 3rd party plugin support. I will try my best to find the cause of the incompatibility.

    Ye i deactivated the plugin now and then it worked again.. Really wierd and I want to keep using Polylang instead of WPML. Any idea what might cause it to break when activating translations?

    It can be anything really, no idea. Based on the ajax response the search goes trough and returns 0 results without errors. My best guess is that something goes wrong during the post-processing and it exits without errors. If you by any chance used WPML it might left the databases there and the search could think you are still using it. Try to go to the search settings "Adanced Options" panel and disable the "WPML compatibility" option: http://i.imgur.com/h6tKoYJ.png Let me know if it changes anything.

    Hi, Considering buying your plugin, i have quite specific needs for the search functionality though. I need the search field to search everything include title, content and most importantly taxonomy terms. A lot of the search plugins out there display select menus to filter by taxonomy, however i dont want drop down menus, just one search box thats searches everything? Please let me know. Adam

    Hi! Yes it is possible. If you check the first example on the main demo site and type in for example "suv" then the vehicles from the SUV category will be returned. This works as well with custom taxonomy terms. By default this feature is not enabled on the backend, because it's very database heavy. (because of joining the post tables with the terms) But if your database is not a big one, it should work without problems :) Best regards, Ernest

    Hi! Are the images hosted on your server, or on another url? Can you please link me to a page where the search is active, so I can maybe check if there is any error message on the image urls?

    Hi! On the second screenshot the image url of the image is "551". This string is passed to timthumb which is not a valid image. Does the custom field contains the url of the image?
