Superfly is a responsive WordPress menu plugin that generates space efficient vertical push/sliding/static navigation, icon toolbar or fullscreen menu on your choice. It can be used as standalone navigation or compliment your main menu. Superfly makes navigation much easier and user-friendly both on desktops and mobiles. Concept of slide in vertical menu that proved itself on mobiles now shines on desktops too! It can be used as always visible navigation as well.

Mouseover interface removes necessity of extra click and user reveals menu with easy move and beautiful appearance. Click option is still available though. Under the hood, only industry’s best practices are used for animations and smooth performance.

* * Advanced Toolbar Add-on for Superfly Menu has been released! You asked, we delivered! * *

Can be used as section navigation for one page sites (when menu items has href attribute like href="#contact"). Superfly provides smooth scrolling.

Slide in vertical menu is the trendiest flow in web design these days. Now this navigation pattern comes to WordPress with Superfly WordPress Menu Plugin. It perfectly suits for every modern site.

How it works:

Superfly sits on standard Wordpress menu system. So you create standard WP menu (or use existing) in WP admin on Appearance/Menus page and then you choose this menu on Superfly’s options page as source. Superfly injects specified menu in its sidebar. Also you have option to specify alternative menu using CSS selector if you want to use some existing menu on page as source for Superfly. Plugin doesn’t replace existing theme menus. In this case y ou should disable default menu in menu locations settings or hide by simple CSS (ask advise for this with your live URL).

Features:

  • Various menu modes. Slide in menu, static menu, compact icon navbar, skewed panel, fullscreen mode.
  • GDPR compliant. Plugin doesn’t store any data of your site visitors.
  • 100% Responsive. Superfly suits perfectly to different screen sizes.
  • Displaying control. Show/hide on mobiles, show/hide on desktops, show on specific pages, show for logged in users etc.
  • Content areas. Use rich-text editor to add and style custom content or shortcodes.
  • Trigger settings. Option to hide default menu button (label) and toggle menu from any element like button, link, image etc.
  • Multiple menu sources. Attach to Superfly as much WordPress menus as you need.
  • Google Fonts + settings. Choose font family, size, alignment, line-height, colors and more!
  • Rich elements. Decorate your menu with widgets, shortcodes or any custom html.
  • Styling menu. Design your menu items by adding images, chapters, separators, icons, second row text etc. Change font settings, colors, background image, your logo and more!
  • Multi-level menus support (up to 4 levels). Proper adaptation for both desktop and mobile devices.
  • Menu sections. Group your menu items into logical sections and style it headings.
  • Smooth scroll. Little but great feature especially for one page websites. Get a smooth scrolling to your anchored elements.
  • Label fixed to content. Button can be scrolled with content and its floating is disabled.
  • Icon library. Use pre-installed icon sets or upload your own to style menu items and menu button.
  • Behavior options. Like pushing content or not, opening on hover or click etc.
  • Enhanced mobile support. Use Superfly on all devices or mobile only. You can even add navigation bar with your logo for smartphones. Swipes are supported as well.
  • Rich menu button settings. x,y positioning, base and icon colors, text label, size, custom icon and more!
  • Beautiful animations. Optimized greatly and created with pure CSS3.
  • Cosy admin panel. Clean design, simple understandable structure and tons of options handy in use.
  • Social bar. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, Pinterest, Dribbble, YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, Skype, RSS, e-mail.

Provide feedback and improve Superfly menu significantly.

Known issues

Chrome browser has some glitches rendering fixed background (background-attachment:fixed rule) after CSS transformations applied (which is happening when plugin pushes content). Background becomes static and flickers. This cannot be fixed until Chrome devs fix this for their browser. Plugin applies workaround for this case when body element has fixed background. For rest elements it applies background attachment ‘static’ in Chrome. You can use slide out animation instead of pushing content if you want your background to be fixed.

No RTL support currently.

    I've read the other comments about linking to ID # div elements, but none of the solutions fix my issue... the menu links simply produce a javascript error when trying to smooth scroll to div sections regardless of whether the link is relative or not: TypeError: Cannot read property 'top' of undefined /functionality/addons/superfly-menu/js/public.min.js?ver=4.3.6:1

    Hello, Is there a way I can control the duration of animation of the button itself when it is mouseover or clicked? And also the speed and delay of the menu panel on sliding in?

    Hello hmg29,

    Thanks for your interest in our plugin.

    1. Superfly doesn't replace your theme's menu.

    2. It works with WPML but you'll have to create additional versions of menu for different languages.

    I'm having trouble figuring out how to disable the link to certain menu items. I want 3 pages nested under a "Services" page, but I don't want the "Services" page doesn't actually exist (only as a placeholder in the menu). I assume this functionality is available, and relatively easy to execute... but how do I do it?

    Hi. No, there is no way for now. I'm not sure but if menu is translated with WPML shouldn't it be displayed automatically in site language?

    Yes, the translated menu will be displayed, but that is not what I am trying to achieve. What I wanted was for the language selector (the drop down language list or the country flags) to be shown in the superfly menu. Trying to develop a site where all the navigations and language options will be displayed in the superfly menu

    Ah I see. This language selector is non-standard element I can't include in plugin, this need to be customized for your site. I suggest to hardcode it in HTML in superfly.php

    When you select to push the content, there is a delay from when the menu slides out and the content pushes. This doesn't look like the bar is actually pushing the content because of the delay. What can I change to make it a more instant push/pull but still smooth transition?

    Hi. I'm removing this in next update, plan to release soon. If you want you can edit superfly.min.js and ctrl-F for this

    setTimeout(function(){C.addClass("sf-body-pushed");T="open"},50)

    Wow - what a great plugin! Never had a menu addon which is so easy and so versatile to customize. Congratulations, I like it a lot. Feature request: a space for inserting some text, maybe html, would be nice. (inside the sidebar, below the menu) Nevertheless a fine piece of work. Cheers

    I think it's possible with pure CSS if you use 'always visible' option for sidebar. Make BG transparent and submenu items visible and so on

Is it possible to activate the menu once you hover on a menu item ie I want to list travel on the normal horizontal menu then on hover the slide menu slides in? Thank you :) Oh and add the name travel instead of menu on the icon?

    hi! plugin has API method that you can call from your code. So you can set up onhover events and envoke method when they're triggered. Sounds like basic coding if you just want to slide menu on hover of some elements

    my messages keep disappearing right away when i reply... Your help is great! After resizing the logo, my menu items seem to be off centred. Can you please help me re align them. The "setting menu" alignment centre isn't helping. Thanks again!

    I guess you can use state CSS classe sf-body-pushed https://www.dropbox.com/s/colpjiw3jqgw3pz/Screenshot%202015-01-22%2018.00.05.png?dl=0 which is added to body tag when menu is open. And using CSS transforms

    Hi sorry for lost comment. try to add this CSS

    #sf-sidebar .sf-nav, #sf-sidebar .sf-logo {
    position: static !important;
    display: block !important;
    }

    #sf-sidebar .sf-logo {

    Hi, Brilliant plugin. How do I go about setting an offset for smooth scroll? I have a floating header approx 70px tall that makes it seem as though the scroll is over/undershooting the top of the section. Thanks in advance.

    .offset { display: block; margin-top: -70px; padding-top: 70px; width: 1px; } Some CSS did the trick.

    Is there anyway to change the offset in your js?

    Yes but not so comfortable. In superfly-menu.min.js ctrl-F for ("html, body").stop().animate (2 occurrences, envato parcer replaces double quotes so type manually) and in following code https://www.dropbox.com/s/ka7gses2jydvnd2/Screenshot%202014-10-20%2019.23.43.png?dl=0 make adjustments like this:

    .offset().top + 70

    or e.g
    .offset().top - 100
